Description

The Role

Please note before application: We are a UK based business with an initial client engagement requiring travel to Dublin 2-3 days per week for this project which will be funded by Leighton.

We are seeking an experienced AWS Solution Architect to play a key role in the design and delivery of a brand-new cloud platform. This is a high-impact position where you will shape the foundational AWS environment and act as the bridge between senior stakeholders and technical delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of a greenfield AWS platform, including landing zone setup, account structure, networking, security, governance, and accreditation.
  • Collaborate with an external delivery partner responsible for building the platform, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and organisational goals.
  • Act as a translator between technical teams and senior leadership, clearly articulating complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Oversee integration with existing cloud environments and edge/IoT networks, ensuring seamless connectivity and interoperability.
  • Provide guidance on best practices across architecture, security, and governance frameworks.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Strong, end-to-end AWS architecture expertise, particularly across:Β 
    • Networking (including IP overlap challenges)
    • Firewalls and security appliances
    • Multi-account and landing zone design
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at CIO / executive level
  • Experience working across complex hybrid or multi-cloud environments
  • Familiarity with tools and approaches leveraging Generative AI to improve documentation, governance, and delivery efficiency
