The Global Information Security team is responsible for driving the development, deployment, and management of information and cyber security across the Computershare businesses, globally. 

Through partnerships with the business units, Technology Services and other support functions, the Global Information Security team actively supports the business objectives whilst reducing the overall composite risk to Computershare.

A role you will love  

As the Associate Security Solutions Architect, you will work as part of the Global Information Security team of professionals and will support the delivery, execution, and implementation of security solution architectures across the Group in line with the enterprise security strategy, architecture, and vision.  

The Associate Security Solutions Architect will be required to gain and maintain a working knowledge of relevant teams within Global Information Security, the Business, and Technology Services, to engage effectively and understand business impact of risk-based security solutions architecture decisions.  This means working collaboratively with global teams across Computershare, both within and outside the Global Information Security Team. 

Other key responsibilities include: 

  • Help define and maintain security solutions architecture. As part of this, you will articulate associated benefits, costs, and any residual risks for the solutions architecture. 
  • Assist in maintenance and annual review of the technical security standards and hardening standards. 
  • Provide advice on the correct interpretation of the IT security standard, identify technology solutions that meet the standards, and highlight any risks of non-compliance. 
  • Perform Threat Modelling of critical systems and material system changes  


What will you bring to the role?

The Associate Security Solutions Architect requires attention to detail and evaluative judgment to interpret and apply best practice in a Computershare context. The role holder is expected to respond to and resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and assist in creating clear policies and standards. 

You will have evidenced high-level knowledge of security controls and an ability to work with security standards frameworks (e.g. CIS, ISO, NIST). 

Whilst the role will not directly supervise or manage others, you will be expected to provide support and guidance to members of teams in Global Information Security and Technology Services. This involves defining security solutions patterns, standards, and assisting in interpreting the standards and requirements and defining solutions compliant with security standards and target architectures in technology and security. 

Other skills & experience include: 

  • Experience in co-ordinating and largely self-managing an assigned quota of projects, ensuring that quality standards and time constraints are continuously delivered to a high standard. 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clear verbal and/or written architecture and standards communications to other teams across Global Information Security, Technology Services, and the business.  
  • The ability to apply tact and diplomacy when dealing with challenging stakeholders or sensitive issues. 
  • High-level understanding of the workings of most common security technologies like Firewalls, IDS, WAF, EDR, AV, DDOS mitigation, micro segmentation etc. in order to advice on their use. 
  • Working understanding of mitigating OWASP top 10.  
  • Familiarity and preferably experience working as a Solutions Architect, with the desire to learn and grow.
