We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Connectivity Architect with experience in Windows and Linux systems. The architectural design of our advanced IoT platform is built on PTC ThingWorx and hosted within Microsoft Azure. This platform leverages various Azure services, including Azure Load Balancer, virtualization environments, and storage technologies. This role is critical to ensuring the connectivity platform meets enterprise requirements, supports complex integrations, and efficiently serves over 30,000 agents connecting devices and site infrastructure across the globe.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cloud-native architectures for IoT applications.
  • Ensure high availability, security, and scalability of cloud-based IoT solutions.
  • Good to have background about IOT Platforms like ThingWorx, Azure IOT.
  • Work with IoT communication protocols (MQTT, HTTP, WebSockets, AlwaysOn) for secure device connectivity.
  • Knowledge about TLS encryption, authentication, and role-based access control (RBAC) for secure IoT communication.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and latency issues in IoT device communication.
  • Good to have knowledge about Network Administration (VLAN, IP sub netting, Proxies, Firewalls, and core technologies (DNS, routing, iptables) etc.
  • Implement TLS (1.2/1.3), OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT authentication for secure communication.
  • Knowledge about Zero Trust Architecture principles for network security.
  • Monitor and mitigate IoT-specific security threats such as DDoS, MITM attacks, and unauthorized access
  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deploying IoT solutions in Azure environments or similar cloud infrastructure.
  • Exposure to installer packages for IoT applications using MSI, InstallShield.
  • Ensure version control, rollback mechanisms, and software updates for deployed IoT solutions.
  • Familiarity about deployment and managing multiple environments (Dev, QA, Staging, Prod)
  • Knowledge about secure remote desktop technologies with VNC/RDP
  • Knowledge about secure VNC connections using SSH tunneling, VPN, or TLS-based encryption.
  • Secure databases using RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), and auditing.
  • Knowledge about GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) best practices for data privacy and security.
  • Support security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks
  • Experience in real-time application monitoring for platforms like ThingWorx and Azure-based IoT applications.
  • Establish metrics collection and anomaly detection for IoT data pipelines.

Qualifications Required:
BE, MSc, MCA in Computer Science or related disciplines.
 

Number of year’s related experience: 10-15 Years

Knowledge / Skills:

ESSENTIAL (minimum requirements)

  • BSc degree in computer science, Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong capabilities gained through demonstrable professional working experience as an Architect.
  • Strong capabilities gained through demonstrable professional working experience with scripting language in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for cloud automation and deployment.
  • Good experience with Azure Identity Management, Access Control Management and Role-based security RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) and auditing.
  • Good to have experience on Administration of IoT Infrastructure solution preferably PTC ThingWorx. 
  • Previous work with complex integrations and performance tuning in cloud environments
  • Ability to guide/co-ordinate/support stakeholders, Product team and third-party vendors
  • Knowledge about Azure SQL Database, PostgreSQL
  • The ability to translate business visions into illustrated technical design solutions.
  • Comfortable with liaising with stakeholders, to resolve issues, whilst also having a proactive attitude to work within a fast-paced environment.
  • fluent in English (written and verbal) with the ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms.
  • Experience in architecture, with a minimum of 2 years in any IOT Platform
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing architectures for large-scale infrastructures. 
  • Knowledge of security best practices, networking concepts, and compliance frameworks. 
  • Knowledge about software lifecycle management

DESIRABLE (not essential, but highly advantageous)

  • Certification as an Azure Architect Expert (AZ-303/AZ-304) is good to have.

The annual base pay for this position is:

Min $116,500 - Max $174,700

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
