JOB TITLE: Lead Solution Architect
SALARY: £90,440 - £106,400
LOCATION(S): Edinburgh
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in one of the above locations
About this opportunity
The main responsibility of a Lead Solution Architect is to orchestrate complex solution architectures for key outcomes! They play a substantive role in enabling teams to deliver at pace by shaping the solution architecture forward look for a lab or platform, and partner with Product Owners engineering teams and Enterprise architect!
Key responsibilities include:
Develop and deliver budget plans for own area with guidance from senior colleagues.
Identify shortcomings, suggests improvements, and implements approved revisions to current compliance processes, systems, and procedures within the assigned field.
Meet the needs of significant customers related to complex, often customised products and services and/or manages a customer advisor department over a significant area.
Take responsibility for implementing a team's formal development framework with guidance from senior colleagues, while informally coaching others throughout the organisation in area of expertise and pursuing and investing in opportunities for own personal development.
Initiate, formulates, and implements new business practices for own field, while managing the development and/or delivery of a significant element of the organization's change management program.
Take responsibility for developing and delivering a key element of the organisation's knowledge management system.
Build complex frameworks to fully assess the scope and context of short-term and long-term business needs.
Manage the definition, development, and/or delivery of a significant product or service of the organisation's development/engineering programme and offers to ensure alignment with customer requirements, and/or manages a medium-size product development/specialist team.
Develop new methods, tools and programmes for quality assurance while leading developmental initiatives and/or programmes within an area of expertise.
Make a significant improvement on short-term or long-term business performance by recommending authoritative technical and/or professional solutions.
Monitor and manages a wide range of activities of a significant team ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements by liaising with all internal risk management functions while supporting the development and implementation of the organisation's compliance policy.
Manage the development and/or delivery of a component of the organization's long-term goals.
Develop tactical plans for optimisation of resources and assets being managed within a given area or department.
Develop and/or delivers a plan for a specific area of responsibility by managing others.

What you'll need
Story-telling skills to describe our Solution Architecture and get agreement to achieve it.
Experience of architecting modern ecosystems to support the transformation of monolithic applications
Relationship and collaborator skills to energise our product and engineering communities.
Practical, hands-on experience required for defining the patterns, standards and practices guiding our engineering community.
Knowledge to be able to talk to and understand our customers, reaching solutions that meet their needs.
Experience of leading small to medium size teams and the ability to coach
