Summary:

The Commercial Regulatory Onboarding Specialist, Sr will complete regulatory customer onboarding reviews, working closely with deal teams to onboard or update customer profiles. This individual will apply their knowledge and expertise of regulatory functions, banking regulations, enhanced due diligence (EDD), and BSA/AML & beneficial ownership requirements. Additionally, they will assist other team members with complex onboarding situations, provide input during collaborative sessions such as team meetings, and support the manager in their efforts. This person will also offer value-added feedback on process improvements and assistance in the continuous improvement culture.  High importance is placed on attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports management by taking ownership of complex deals, duties, and assignments.
  • First-line decision makers; mitigates issues/questions being elevated to management.
  • Provides mentoring and support to ROS peers; requires interpreting of policies & procedures.
  • Owns, facilitates, or significantly contributes to special projects.
  • Performs additional duties assigned to ensure adherence to procedures and policy.
  • Actively seeks opportunities to contribute to the success of the team.
  • Proactively manages workflow and exhibits independent time management.
  • Updates ROS reporting on a recurring basis for internal distribution. Provides context related to variances or swings.
  • Completes customer onboarding/refresh in compliance with regulatory guidelines established by the BSA/AML group, including the following: collection, review, validation of CIP documents; KYC; BOCP Form or exclusions/exceptions; third-party research; OFAC screening (as applicable) and enhanced due diligence (EDD).
  • Demonstrates advanced understanding of Commercial regulatory onboarding process; BSA/AML policies; and emerging risks/OFAC Sanctions.
  • Utilizes procedures, knowledge, established framework, and critical thinking to mitigate risk, including enhanced due diligence (EDD) required for high-risk entity types. Partners with BSA/AML as appropriate.
  • Helps deal teams navigate competing priorities to meet onboarding deadlines.
  • Determines tier of onboarding complexity, to proceed with the appropriate level of review and deal team engagement.
  • Performs quality control (QC) reviews as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 5 years in Commercial Banking or Regulatory; Regulatory knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or finance
  • Excellence in providing thoughtful, executable plans and solutions to internal partners and explaining the “why”.
  • Strong ability to facilitate and negotiate.
  • Exhibits engagement and leads with valuable, constructive feedback.
  • Previous experience in regulatory KYC/BOCP/CIP areas.
  • Exceptional listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Skilled with MS Office applications; experience with third-party due-diligence platforms
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to research and problem solve.
  • Engaged, intuitive, adaptable, resourceful, insightful, and energetic.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrates relationship-building and advanced professionalism with various colleagues, departments, and management.

Compensation Range:

$30.29 - 59.62 Hourly

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.  Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.  In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
